Abstract

Successful removal of renal calculi remains one of the most troublesome challenge for urologists, In many cases recurrent stones are due to incomplete removal of renal stones during the operation.
Coagulum pyelolithotomy is mainly indicated in cases of multiple stones, soft, crumbly stone or stones, small, mobile caliceal stones and as an aid to fixing caliceal stone or stones in the calix prior to partial resection of the kidney or nephrolithotomy.
For suitable coagulum material, we used cryoprecipitate and commercial bovine thrombin diluted a 20 unit/ml concentration and 3%CaCl©ü in a 25 : 4 : 1 ratio. Experience of one case with coagulum pyelolithotomy and its use are presnted.
